I love the story of David & Goliath.
ReplyDeleteI’ve heard 2 preaching on Bro. Booker’s website about David being from the lineage of Ruth and Goliath possibly being from the lineage of Orpah… the daughter-in-law that turned away from Naomi’s God! That would be interesting to study out.
Goliath, who was an uncircumcised philistine and a fighter from his youth, tried to manipulate & intimidate God’s people. It worked until little David came with a sling and a few rocks. David knew that the battle we fight is not against flesh & blood but it’s a spiritual warfare! I love David’s faith.. he just KNEW that God was going to take this philistine down! Thank God for men of God that is not afraid to stand up against an intimidating enemy! Funny thing is, as soon as Goliath was dead… everyone behind him ran because they then also realized God is on His people’s side! Kill the main devil and all the rest will flee :0).
Ps 63 has always been one of my favorite!
ReplyDeletePs 65 really stood out to me this time in the NKJV. In verse 11 it says "You crown the year with goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance." Wow! Where's my highlighter?

1 Sam 21:9 ... No idea David later on uses Goliath's sword. And just how big was this thing? Lol..
